FAQ
-
What exactly do you create?
I hand-paint digital heirloom portraits from your favorite photographs. Each piece is created brushstroke by brushstroke, using a digital tablet and professional art software. This is not AI, not a filter, and not an “auto-paint” effect — it is true artistry, done by hand.
-
What paint styles can I choose from?
Modern, or Old Master’s. You can see examples here
-
What is included when I place and order?
You are hiring me to turn a photo with one subject (person, pet,) into a digital painting by hand. If your photo has more than one person or subject, you can add extra subjects to your order when you check out.
-
Is this AI or a digital filter?
No. I never use AI, filters, or automated effects. Every portrait is painted by me, one stroke at a time, in my own artistic style. My work is thoughtful, intentional, and handcrafted — which is why it feels emotional and timeless.
-
What if I want something more imaginative or storytelling-based?
For families who want a magical concept or a scene that doesn’t exist in a single photo, I offer The Custom Commission Edition. In these pieces, I design and paint a full storytelling scene from scratch — blending multiple references and hand-creating the environment in Photoshop before finishing it as a digital painting. This process is still 100% my work, not AI, not templated, and not outsourced.
-
What type of photo works best?
Choose a clear, well-lit image with one subject. Be sure subject’s face is visible, sharp, and expressive. Natural light works beautifully. If you’re unsure, upload your top options and I’ll help you select the image that will make the strongest heirloom. If your photo has more than one subject, you can add them on during checkout.
-
How long does it take to receive my artwork?
About 2 to 3 weeks.
Because everything is painted by hand, I never rush the artwork and I honor the story behind it.
-
How will I receive my portrait?
You’ll receive a high-resolution digital file via email. If you order a Wall Art Edition, your printed artwork will be shipped to your home, ready to display.
-
Can I print my artwork?
Yes. Your file will arrive in a size that fits your edition:
5×7 Social Edition for small prints and sharing
Up to 16×20 Print-Ready Edition for larger displays
Wall Art Editions include your physical print, with optional framing and premium upgrades.
-
Do you paint adults, siblings, or pets?
Yes. I can create heirloom art featuring babies, children, siblings, families, pets, or loved ones. Each portrait is crafted with the same care and intention.
-
What kind of digital painting can I expect for my photo?
When you commission a painting, you can expect to get a final piece that is similar to the examples you see in my gallery. I have my styles. I assess each image and make a creative decision based on how I see best to proceed. You can choose between a “modern” approach or an “Old Master’s” approach. Beyond that, it is the artist’s choice of how to complete the project.
-
Can you remove objects, change backgrounds, or edit details?
Yes. Simple adjustments are included. More complex changes, especially storytelling composites , fall under The Custom Commission Edition.
